The magnificent dreaming of Mar Solís
An abstract artist who unashamedly works with emotions
Entering the studio of an artist is like accessing a personal and intimate universe, housed in the deepest interior of someone who allows you for a while to wrap yourself in the atmosphere that he himself breathes when creating. It is not just a studio, but the stage of the magnificent dreaming in which things are discovered of those who live in that space simply by looking around, observing the works of art, the tools of work and their layout. It is like peeping through a place little traveled by strangers and one feels privileged.
Mar Solís welcomes me smiling in the middle of the stage, her “laboratory of the new experience”, surrounded by sculptural pieces that occupy a generous area of a large and spacious studio. She looks like the queen of her conquered world, which she has created with her hands. A queen, whom I have to address informally, who proudly tells me about each of her works and introduces me little by little into her magnificent dreaming where lines, voids, volumes, shadows and emotions float, and thus she turns me into an inhabitant, for a while, of her splendid particular universe.
